Edwin F. Schaefer is of counsel to the firm of Bailey, Moore, Glazer, Schaefer & Proto, LLP. He has more than 60 years of experience in providing quality accounting and business advisory services to his clients. He has particular expertise in a wide range of industries, including: real estate developers, health and other service industries, and manufacturers. He has significant experience in the operation of partnerships, including the complex tax rules which apply to limited partnerships and limited liability companies.
Mr. Schaefer provides a variety of business services to his clients in addition to the normal accounting and tax services. These include reviews of organizational structure, due diligence audits, and strategic business acquisition planning. He has designed individual programs to satisfy the business needs of his clients.
Mr. Schaefer has also been involved in many large business acquisitions and dispositions for a variety of business entities, with particular emphasis on corporations, partnerships, joint ventures and limited liability companies. He is also active in the exploration of financing alternatives for his clients and has been involved in the negotiation of financing terms.
Mr. Schaefer received his Degree of Bachelors of Science in Accounting from The University of Connecticut. Mr. Schaefer left school in 1942 to enlist in the armed forces during World War II. He was a pilot in the Army Air Corps and served in the European Theater. After his return to the United States, he completed his degree and worked in the firm, retiring as a partner in 1986.
